Stand Up Awareness week was celebrated in Stratford from 15th - 19th November, finishing up on Friday, 19th in a wash of colour as students were allowed a non-uniform day to wear bright colours!

Stratford College selected for BLAST Arts-in-Education Programme
Stratford College has been selected as one of 400 schools to participate in the Department of Education's new innovative Arts-in-Education BLAST Residency Programme in 2021. Adrienne Geoghegan, a visual artist and illustrator, is going to work with the TY class in January and February 2022 to help them write and illustrate their own children's books.

In January 2021, as Ireland bore the brunt of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and remote schooling was required for a second time, a competition was announced where Stratford students were encouraged to express themselves 'Chasing Joy!'. Faces of Stratford College 2002
Part of a commission/artist in residence at Stratford College, Dublin, 2002. Where I painted a series of student portraits for the Colleges 50th Anniversary . Fresco fragment with gold-leaf. The work was inspired by Pompeii frescos of children’s portraits and Roman/Egyptian funeral mask frescos of mummies. The artwork was unveiled by President Mary McAleese in December 2002. Student Council 'Eye on Nature' competition: prizewinning photos announced
The Wellbeing committee have been working especially hard this term to devise challenges for each month we had a variety available for students to choose from including, sustainable cooking, couch to 5k and even yoga challenges. We also had competitions to spark the competitive side amongst each year groups which were the Chasing Joy competition at the start of 2021 and more recently our 'Eye on Nature' competition.

6th Year wins Best Animation Award & Highly Commended Storytelling Award at Fresh Film Festival 2021
Congratulations to Nellie Warren who won two awards at the Fresh Film Festival on Friday, 26th March for her short film 'buachaill'! Nellie won the Cartoon Saloon Award for Best Animation and the Highly Commended Storytelling Award for 'buachaill'.

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2021 was celebrated in numerous ways - all online of course! The 1st years created very nice work on Grainne Mhaol on padlet(see image). There were Tráth na gCeists for the 2nd-4th years & the 2nd Year's online assembly.
