The 1st Year Computer Studies class have been set up into 8 teams and each team registered their Young Environmentalist project plan with ECO-UNESCO in mid-December. Each team has started to create their Scratch coding project highlighting an environmental issue of their choice based on the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Green Schools are very proud to display the seven Green School flags that have been awarded to Stratford College over the past ten years. The pennants are currently on show in the Classics room and will be moved to a more prominent position for everyone to see in January.

From December 9th to 12th, Stratford College celebrated Mitzvah – Wellbeing Week, a time dedicated to kindness, reflection, and action. As part of our commitment to Global Citizenship Education, Student Council and staff organized a fundraiser in support of Focus Ireland, helping those affected by homelessness.

On the 10th of December 2nd years, 5th years, and Green Schools participated in a Bushy Park Litter pick up as a part of Mitzvah Week, to give back to our community. We collected multiple bags of litter, with some exciting finds including an abandoned trolley and a bike!

Throughout late November the TYs were very involved with all things Law, battled with the rain as they played Padel and attended a Virtual Climate Action workshop. And all the while the TYs were busy making final arrangements before going on their first week of work experience (1st - 5th December)

Our 4th years continue to prep our polytunnel. They have been busy planting garlic and onions, broad beans and radishes. They've also been composting the beds and weeding and this week we also planted out lavender and rosemary!

Over the summer of 2025 Stratford College replaced all its PC's with new Windows 11 PC's. This major investment is part of Stratford's Digital Learning Plan for teaching and learning, ICT infrastructure and planning for the future.

The TYs, under the guidance of Dr McAdoo, have been tending to the polytunnel throughout the year. At the end of the year they cooked the potatoes and onions they'd grown! Delicious!
