The TYs have been really busy throughout March! Every Friday they've been going to the BLOC Climbing Centre near Tallaght, a number of students visit Orwell Lodge Nursing Home every Tuesday at lunch, a field trip to the Incinerator in Sandymount with Ms Skehan, completed a Kinia Paired Reading training morning, attended a Women in STEM talk when past-pupil Olivia Foley returned to Stratford and more! Plus the very cool TY 2025-2026 hoodies arrived - thanks Mr Eppel!

5th and 6th Year Classics and Drama, Film and Theatre Studies students visit Rome

On the 28th of February the Sixth and Fifth year Classics and Drama, Film and Theatre studies students flew to Rome bright and early. We were flown there by past pupil Greg, First Officer. This added to the excitement of the trip. We visited the Pantheon where we got to see the sun through the oculus and the sheer scale of the building. This was the first time for many of the students seeing the building. We visited the Capitoline museum where we saw many interesting artifacts most notably the statue of Marcus Aurelius and Commodus on the first day.

2nd Years participate in Fast Fashion workshop by repairing clothes

On Tuesday, the 24th of February, the second years took part in a Fast Fashion workshop hosted by Leah Gaynor from Oxfam. There, we learned all about ethical fashion and how companies use greenwashing as a deceptive marketing tactic. We watched a video on clothing waste in the global south, and it is safe to say the statistics were appalling.

Annual Awards Ceremony, 11th October 2024

The Annual Awards Ceremony took place on the 11th October, expertly led and organised by Ms. Talbot and the Student Council.  We welcomed back so many of the Class of 2024, who along with current students, were the recipients of numerous awards and acolades.  As Mr. Barrett, said "Is fearr forás na foirfeacht".

Special thanks to our guest speaker, Leah Johnston of Dublin City Council East Area, who presented the Dublin City Neighbourhood Award 2024 and spoke so eloquently on the topic.

Alumni Profile - Ayush Tambde, Class of 2023

Class of 2023 Ayush Tambde won the prize for Best Individual at BTYSTE with his project, 'Analysis of single-cell proteomic data to understand the mechanisms of oncogenic transformation and how to control them'. He also won the Horizon Student Award for the best overall Biological and Ecological project.

Ayush has twice been named one of the Top 30 under 30 in tech by the Sunday business Post.

Congratulations to our UCD and TCD Entrance Scholars/Exhibition 2023

UCD Entrance Scholars are first year students recognised for their academic achievement who have achieved 560 points or more in their Leaving Certificate (or equivalent second level examination). 

TCD Entrance Exhibitions (EU Students Only)
Entrance exhibitions are automatically awarded to Junior Fresh (first year) new entrants provided that sufficient merit is shown in public examination results.  Read more.
