Stratford College marks National Mental Health Day

On Wednesday, October the 10th students and staff marked National Mental Health Day, a significant occasion to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and well being.  

TY students have great fun in Delphi

The TYs, accompanied by Ms Kenny and Ms Mahon, went to Delphi Adventure Centre from Monday 1st October to Wednesday 3rd October! Kayaking, making rafts, bog jumping and combat archery are only some of the activities that the TYs took part in during their stay in Delphi.

TYs host Coffee Morning in aid of Our Lady's Hospice

The TY's hosted a wonderful coffee morning in aid of Our Lady's Hospice, Harolds Cross on 25th September. 

Each class year was invited to the coffee dock in the hall for a refreshing cuppa and some dancing.  Thanks to Ms Finnegan and all the TYs for making it such a spectacular success.  In excess of 300 euro was raised for such a worthy cause.

2X students work on CSPE sustainable development goals

During CSPE class on 25th September, Ms McGill and 2X CSPE students debated and ranked the sustainable development goals.

1st Years & TYs go on Scavenger Hunt in Bushy Park

The TYs and 1st Years went to Bushy Park with Ms Finnegan, Ms Maxwell, Mr Eppel and Ms Fanning to do a Scavenger Hunt on Friday 30th August!

Hot Pot Meals at Stratford College!

Supplied in handy ‘hot pots’ the menus include vegetarian and vegan options and follow Department of Education nutrition and calorific guidelines.

Safe Route to Schools Update

A ‘School Zone’ road surface sign will be painted directly on Zion Road on the northern side of the turn for Victoria Road. This is to advise motorists they are in a School Zone and to drive accordingly.

Two new ‘School Ahead’ with flashing amber signs will be installed on Zion Road on the northern side of the turn for Victoria Road. This is to advise motorists they are in a School Zone and to drive accordingly. 

Blister paving has been laid for pedestrian crossings. This surface provides a warning to someone with a visual impairment that they are at a road crossing. The surface is an essential safety feature and consists of rows of flat topped blisters in a square pattern.

And a bike shelter and bike racks was provided by SRTS last year and is at the rear of the school.

Department of Education: Schools experience of implementing the Wellbeing promotion process using School Self Evaluation in primary and post-primary schools.

Earlier this year Stratford College was invited to take part in the video recording of best practice being carried out by NEPS (National Educational Psychological Service) for the Department of Education from the perspectives of school staff and students.
