TYs presented with their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement Certificates

The TYs received their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement  (JCPA) Certificates in a small ceremony in school on Tuesday morning, 10th March. Ms McGill spoke about the holistic nature of the achievements highlighted in each certificate presented to the TY students - "today we want to give you the opportunity to reflect on all the wonderful things you have done, and maybe nudge you gently towards thinking about your goals for Leaving Cert and beyond".

School Self Evaluation: Report on Teaching and Learning Goals, August – December 2025

End of term 1 report: January 2026

Background:
In August 2025, Teaching and Learning Targets were set for Term 1 2025–2026 on our return to school. These targets were guided by feedback received from all stakeholders in May 2025 through surveys of all stakeholders, staff & student focus groups, and staff discussion. Post December 2025 House-Exams, surveys were sent to all stakeholders (parents, students and teachers). This feedback alongside ‘focus group’ feedback (Student Council, Parent-Teacher meetings, staff meetings such as Year Head Meetings and Senior Management meetings) will guide future targets.

1st Year Computer Studies class enter Young Environmentalist Awards with Scratch coding projects

The 1st Year Computer Studies class have been set up into 8 teams and each team registered their Young Environmentalist project plan with ECO-UNESCO in mid-December. Each team has started to create their Scratch coding project highlighting an environmental issue of their choice based on the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals. As the Winter Exams approach from 1st -5th December students, staff and households are busy preparing. Teachers are mindful of the anxiety around exams and are preparing students with Study Plans as well as some or more of the following supports such as sample questions and answers, marking schemes, exemplars of best practice for example, depending on subjects and year groups.

Stratford teachers participate in Erasmus+ TD3C research project

Researchers Dr Keith Johnston and Helena Ledermann from Trinity College Dublin/Learnovate provided the opening workshop on Thursday 6th November for the TD3C  (Teacher Digital Content Creation Competencies) Erasmus+ project which a number of teachers from Stratford College will be participating in over the coming months.
