Stratford's Wellbeing Week 2026 - School Walk, Culture Day, Sports Day, Hell and Back - something for everyone!

Stratford celebrated Wellbeing Week 2026 (5th - 8th May), a special week dedicated to promoting positive mental health, physical activity and cultural awareness. Students had the opportunity to take part in a variety of fun and engaging activities throughout the week, including walks, workshops, cultural events, sports, and wellbeing challenges.

Stratford reach the 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals in RDS for the first time

Congratulations to 1st Year Computer Studies students - Yair, Liam and Giorgi - who made it to the ECO-UNESCO 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals held on 12th May with their Scratch coding project called "Giorgi the Litter Fighter". This is the first time that a Stratford project has made it to the finals - so very impressive work!

Stratford's Chess team runners-up in Cup Finals

Well done to the Stratford College Chess team who reached the Libermann Cup Finals to play against Coláiste Eanna on Monday 11th May. This is the first time that the Chess team has reached the finals. While it proved to be challenging with Coláiste Eanna showing great experience and ultimately winning out, the Stratford chess team are determined to be back next year!

TY group project wins Intel Technology award at SciFest@College, TUD Grangegorman

Congratulations to TY students - Alanna and Ciara - who won the Intel Technology Award for the Scratch coding project called "The Great Safety Adventure" at the SciFest@College competition in TUD Grangegorman on Friday, 8th May! Well done to Callum and Sanket who also competed with their Scratch coding project called "Now you see me".

Culture Day at Stratford College

On Wednesday, 6th May, the Student Council and Deputy Prefects coordinated Stratford College’s Culture Day to celebrate the diverse cultures of the student body.

Stratford College Careers Evening

Thanks to Ms Sulyk and the Stratford Parents Association, the Careers Evening on Thursday 30th April was a fantastic success! Done in a speed-dating format, students had 7 minutes to listen to a huge variety of people working in different industries and careers.

Dr Mary McAleese visits Stratford College

On Tuesday 28th of April, Stratford College was honoured to welcome former President of Ireland, Dr. Mary McAleese, for a memorable and inspiring visit. Students, staff and guests were excited to hear from one of Ireland’s most respected figures as she shared insights into her personal life, career, and political experiences.

Stratford teams excel in annual Ides of March Classical Studies Quiz

Hugh congratulations to Stratford College Classics students who came 2nd and 3rd in the annual Ides of March Quiz in Blackrock College on Tuesday 28th April. Students from schools all over Dublin and further afield participated. 

Appointment of Delia Donohoe to Permanent Deputy Principal

Delia Donohoe has been appointed as Permanent Deputy Principal of Stratford College, following her tenure as Acting Deputy Principal since August 2023. This milestone marks her 21st year as a dedicated member of the Stratford community, where she has made a lasting contribution both in the classroom and in leadership.

Speaking about her appointment Chair of the Board of Management Ms. Aoife Cassidy said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Delia as Deputy Principal; she has been a leader and teacher at Stratford College for more than 20 years. During this time, she has served in an acting capacity as Deputy Principal, including over the last three years. She has strong leadership skills and an unwavering commitment and dedication to our school community. We have every confidence that she will continue to lead with the same energy, warmth and dedication in the years ahead. We are delighted to formally confirm Delia’s appointment and wish her every success in the role going forward.
