TY group project wins Intel Technology award at SciFest@College, TUD Grangegorman

Congratulations to TY students - Alanna and Ciara - who won the Intel Technology Award for the Scratch coding project called "The Great Safety Adventure" at the SciFest@College competition in TUD Grangegorman on Friday, 8th May! Well done to Callum and Sanket who also competed with their Scratch coding project called "Now you see me".

Stratford College Careers Evening

Thanks to Ms Sulyk and the Stratford Parents Association, the Careers Evening on Thursday 30th April was a fantastic success! Done in a speed-dating format, students had 7 minutes to listen to a huge variety of people working in different industries and careers.

TY Weekly: Water Safety, Zip It!, First Aid, Driving Day, TY Paired Reading Kinia Programme, AI in Industry, the Rite Journey, the Oireachtas and Pytch workshops

The summer term has gone into 5th gear for the TYs with so many activities, events and workshops being organised! Plus planning preparations have started for the TY Graduation.

TY Rite Journey - Overnight camping in Larch Hill

On the 27th of April the TY’s went camping in Larch Hill as a part of the Rite Journey, it was called the abyss, we slept in single tents far away from each other, before going to sleep we had a sing along around a campfire and one of the students brought a guitar!

11 Stratford students invited to compete in Bebras 2026 Computational Thinking National Finals

Approximately 13,000 students from all over Ireland competed in the Bebras Challenge last November. 600 students were invited to compete in the Bebras National Finals in mid-April in Maynooth University. Well done to the 11 Stratford students who were invited to the finals - a major achievement indeed!

Early Spring produce from the school polytunnel

The 4th year horticultural students and 3rd year Darragh have been work hard in the polytunnel throughout the year and are seeing the fruits of their labour!

2026 Stratford's Drama Production: "Burial at Thebes" by Seamus Heaney

On the 14th of April, the drama students performed “Burial at Thebes” by Seamus Heaney. For the past few months, we have been rehearsing the play with our incredible cast of talented actors and our amazing director/drama teacher Mr Barron, and it came out incredible. 

ISSU An Chomhdhail Bhliantuil 2026

On the 7th and 8th of April, during the Spring break, the Stratford ISSU liaisons (Frans 5th Year & Rhea 4th Year) attended An Chomhdháil Bhliantiúl 2026, which is the biggest event in the ISSU calendar. Frans & Rhea report back.  

ISSU, or the Irish Second-level Students Union, is the national student-led representative body for second-level students in Ireland. It acts as a democratic, non-profit organization focused on empowering student councils, ensuring student voices are heard in education policy, and promoting equal access to education.

TY Weekly: Climbing Centre, Incinerator field trip, Orwell Lodge visits, Kinia Paired Reading training and Women in STEM talk

The TYs have been really busy throughout March! Every Friday they've been going to the BLOC Climbing Centre near Tallaght, a number of students visit Orwell Lodge Nursing Home every Tuesday at lunch, a field trip to the Incinerator in Sandymount with Ms Skehan, completed a Kinia Paired Reading training morning, attended a Women in STEM talk when past-pupil Olivia Foley returned to Stratford and more! Plus the very cool TY 2025-2026 hoodies arrived - thanks Mr Eppel!

Stratford students win Intermediate runner-up prize at Dublin City Student Enterprise Final 2026

Congratulations to our Stratford students - Angelia, Sachet, Zhi Hang and Ciara - who participated in the Dublin City Student Enterprise Final 2026 in the Mansion House on Monday 23rd March!  Two of our students took home the Intermediate Runner Up for ZS Fans and Bookmarks.
