Approximately 13,000 students from all over Ireland competed in the Bebras Challenge last November. 600 students were invited to compete in the Bebras National Finals in mid-April in Maynooth University. Well done to the 11 Stratford students who were invited to the finals - a major achievement indeed!

During mid April, the English department was delighted to welcome two English teachers from Luleå in the north of Sweden. They came as part of the Erasmus programme, specifically to observe how English is taught in an English-speaking country.

On the 14th of April, the drama students performed “Burial at Thebes” by Seamus Heaney. For the past few months, we have been rehearsing the play with our incredible cast of talented actors and our amazing director/drama teacher Mr Barron, and it came out incredible.

On the 7th and 8th of April, during the Spring break, the Stratford ISSU liaisons (Frans 5th Year & Rhea 4th Year) attended An Chomhdháil Bhliantiúl 2026, which is the biggest event in the ISSU calendar. Frans & Rhea report back.
ISSU, or the Irish Second-level Students Union, is the national student-led representative body for second-level students in Ireland. It acts as a democratic, non-profit organization focused on empowering student councils, ensuring student voices are heard in education policy, and promoting equal access to education.

As part of learning the Greek myth Narcissus and Echo, first years were given a Narcissus (daffodil) flower on Monday, 23rd March. They were asked to take a photo at the same time everyday.

The TYs have been really busy throughout March! Every Friday they've been going to the BLOC Climbing Centre near Tallaght, a number of students visit Orwell Lodge Nursing Home every Tuesday at lunch, a field trip to the Incinerator in Sandymount with Ms Skehan, completed a Kinia Paired Reading training morning, attended a Women in STEM talk when past-pupil Olivia Foley returned to Stratford and more! Plus the very cool TY 2025-2026 hoodies arrived - thanks Mr Eppel!

Transition Year students gave a presentation on the upcoming Jewish Holiday of Passover to the whole school on the last day of term, 27th March. Congratulations to our Stratford students - Angelia, Sachet, Zhi Hang and Ciara - who participated in the Dublin City Student Enterprise Final 2026 in the Mansion House on Monday 23rd March! Two of our students took home the Intermediate Runner Up for ZS Fans and Bookmarks.
