On Wednesday 22 April Stratford College was welcomed back to The High School. We enjoyed a walk around the campus and discussed bio-diversity and environmental initiatives led by students in both schools. In the Library we discussed topics of mutual concern such as Prefect Elections; Senior Cycle Reform as well as the insights and benefits of occasions such as the visits of Tanaiste Simon Harris and Dr. Mary Mc Aleese to our school. Students enjoyed some light conversation over refreshments and homemade biscuits. Many thanks to Ms. Shuna Hutchinson-Edgar and her wonderful student team for the warm welcome.

We met with their Student Council to share ideas and get inspired for future events. We discussed topics such as sustainability, Simon Harris’s visit, prefect elections, Leaving Cert reform and Mitzvah Day.
We learned about their biodiversity practices and how we may be able to adapt similar systems in the future. We also learned about their school communications efforts and gave suggestions on how they can emulate our communication systems on a larger scale. We exchanged opinions on the LC reform and practices of global citizenship. All in all, it was valuable experience and allowed us to begin to cooperate for the benefit for both of our schools.
