NEWS / 22 April 2026

On Tuesday 21st April, the 6th Computer Science students visited Equal1 in the UCD start-up campus in Belfield to learn and see all about the world's first rack-mounted quantum computer.

The 6th years met with some of the Equal1 team members who explained what is involved in quantum computing. The 6th years also got to do a number of tests in the computer science lab using Raspberry Pico's to test aspects of quantum computing, as well as seeing how quantum chips are designed.

Sincere thanks to Dr Conor Power for organising the morning's activities - an exhilarating trip as we got to see where computing is going to in the future.
