This research was sponsored by the State Examinations Commission (SEC) of Ireland, as part of the Department of Education and Skills (DES) (2013) policy, 'Supporting a better transition from second level to Higher Education: Key directions and next steps'. This research addresses the first and was undertaken by Oxford University Centre for Educational Assessment and Queen’s University, Belfast.

Stratford participate in the Inaugural Great Reads Award - books selected by Irish School Librarians

On 17th February 2017, the winning books in the Junior and Senior Category were announced at the Inaugural Great Reads Award hosted by The King's Hospital Library. Four Junior books and four Senior books were selected from a long list collated by librarians who are members of the Irish School Library Association. Students get to rate each book that they read. The Junior and Senior books getting the most votes - win! The school with the most student votes also win a prize.
