Stratford participate in the Inaugural Great Reads Award - books selected by Irish School Librarians

On 17th February 2017, the winning books in the Junior and Senior Category were announced at the Inaugural Great Reads Award hosted by The King's Hospital Library. Four Junior books and four Senior books were selected from a long list collated by librarians who are members of the Irish School Library Association. Students get to rate each book that they read. The Junior and Senior books getting the most votes - win! The school with the most student votes also win a prize.

On 17th February, "The Art of Being Normal" by Lisa Williamson won the Great Reads Award Senior Category prize and "Knights of the Borrowed Dark" by Dave Rudden won the Junior Category (the most read book in the competition) in the first ever Great Reads Award. Stratford College students participated in the Great Reads Award. Four Junior books and four Senior books were selected from a long list collated by librarians who are members of the Irish School Library Association. Authors had to be debut Young Adult authors, published between January 2015 and June 2016. Students get to rate each book that they read. The Junior and Senior books getting the most votes - win! The school with the most student votes also win a prize.

There was a lot of interest in a number of the books in both the Junior and Senior category.
