Green Schools are very proud to display the seven Green School flags that have been awarded to Stratford College over the past ten years. The pennants are currently on show in the Classics room and will be moved to a more prominent position for everyone to see in January.

The countdown to the 2026 Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition is on! Our two Stratford groups - Sanket and Callum (TY); Hao Wen and Ritvik (5th Year) - are working very hard in the final weeks preparing their project report, project diary and poster. Judging starts on Wednesday 7th January and the doors open to the public on Thursday 8th January.

From designing logo's to bookmarks, from jewelry to paintings, from cookies to brownies to knee pads when playing basketball, up-cycling vinyl records, 3D printing, phonfetti and more besides, the TYs Enterprise Fair on Wednesday 17th December under the guidance of Mr Brilly showed excellent business acumen (and haggling!) by the TYs.

Stratford's ESB Networks' Weather Watch station went live on Monday 15th December! Thanks to Ms Skehan Stratford has it's very own weather station which students and the public can follow using the weathercloud.net app.

From December 9th to 12th, Stratford College celebrated Mitzvah – Wellbeing Week, a time dedicated to kindness, reflection, and action. As part of our commitment to Global Citizenship Education, Student Council and staff organized a fundraiser in support of Focus Ireland, helping those affected by homelessness.

The TY students have been working on their Scratch group projects since September and on Thursday 11th December were ready to present their projects to two external judges in SciFest@School. Congratulations to Alanna, Ciara and Fionn who won 1st prize! There were many other prizes amongst TYs.

On Wednesday, the 10th of December, some students from Stratford College performed at the Orwell House Nursing Home. This was part of our Mitzvah Week programme which is dedicated to giving back to our community and encouraging kindness.

This week in school we are marking Anti-Bullying Week alongside Mitzvah Week, with the shared theme “The Power to Do Good.” Throughout the week, students will take part in activities and discussions that promote kindness, respect, inclusion and positive action.
As part of this focus, we are delighted to share with you our new Bí Cineálta (Be Kind) Anti-Bullying Policy, which reflects our commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment for all students. Bí Cineálta is the national framework that supports schools in preventing and addressing bullying behaviour. You can read the policy here.
