On Monday 2nd March we commenced the week long celebration of Purim and World Book Week. There were many different "fancy dresses" for each day, and full dress up day on World Book Day, Thursday. We celebrated Purim this year with the first year Jewish students presenting our Purim Assembly this year, shared the story of Purim, traditions and customs, as well as handing out delicious 'Hamantaschan' cookies for the whole school on Tuesday, 3rd March.
Thank you to the Jewish Studies and English Departments for organising this and for all the students and staff who participated.
Students and staff were encouraged to come dressed on each day according to the following themes:
There were prizes awarded for students who participated on each day and a prize for the best book character costume on Thursday. We also held a book swap on Thursday and request that all students and staff bring in a book to exchange.
