Schools play a crucial role in helping young people to develop global competence by:

* providing opportunities to learn about global developments;
* teaching students how they can develop a fact-based and critical worldview of today;
* equipping students with the means to analyse a broad range of cultural practices and meanings;
* engaging students in experiences that facilitate intercultural relations;
* promoting the value of diversity

Stratford students and teachers talk to Minister Richard Bruton TD at Schools Strike 4 Climate protest

Almost half the students of Stratford College marched to Dáil Éireann, along with some of their teachers on Friday, 15th March as part of the Strike 4 Climate Change protest. Walking from Rathgar, through Rathmines and then around St. Stephen's Stratford students made their voices heard with their banners, whistles and chants.

Student achievements celebrated at Awards Ceremony

Student Council hosted the Awards Ceremony on Friday, 26th October. The Awards Ceremony celebrates the achievements of excellence by Stratford students in the Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle, as well as leadership, sporting and extra-curricular activities during the school year 2017-2018.

Stratford joins Senior Social Innovation Action Programme

Students work in teams, explore social issues that concern them and develop and implement creative responses and solutions to social need. Learning is youth-led and value-based, infused with an understanding of human rights, ethics and how innovation contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
