Stratford students striking for climate change

Many Stratford students will be participating in the Schools Strike 4 Climate protest outside Dáil Éireann on Friday, 15th March. Students will be leaving school at 12 noon to join other students from around the country. 

This movement was started by a young 15 year old Swedish girl called Greta Thunberg who has inspired young people around the world to follow suit. Hundreds of Irish students are expected to join the protest.

Review of Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA)

The review of Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) took place between June 2018 and March 2019. It was successful in gathering the views of a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrating the level of interest in this aspect of education. We are now engaging in consultation to ensure the findings and related draft advice is reflective of the needs of students, schools and parents.

The NCCA would like you to consider the findings and the draft advice contained in the draft Report and to submit your views.

The deadline for completing the survey or emailing a written submission is Friday 25th October 2019. After this phase of consultation is complete, a final report containing the advice for future directions will be completed and issued to the Minister for Education and Skills.

Bloomsday in Rathgar: 15th & 16th June

Bloomsday celebrates 16th June 1904, the day depicted in James Joyce's Ulysses. As part of the Bloomsday Festival (11th - 16th June), Rathgar village is celebrating Bloomsday on Saturday 15th from 1pm onwards.  On Sunday, 16th June 2019 local historian and auther, Ged Walsh is leading an historical literary walk around Rathgar starting from Herzog Park (beside Rathgar Tennis Club) starting at 11am.
