Consultation on Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA)

The review of Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) took place between June 2018 and March 2019. It was successful in gathering the views of a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrating the level of interest in this aspect of education. We are now engaging in consultation to ensure the findings and related draft advice is reflective of the needs of students, schools and parents.

State Examinations Candidate Self Service Portal

In line with changes required to bring about the earlier issue of results of the Leaving Certificate appeals, the State Examinations Commission (SEC) has developed a Candidate Self Service Portal for Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied candidates.

Bus Connects Dublin is a government plan to transform Dublin’s bus system and to enhance Dublin’s cycling infrastructure. The proposed bus route changes may affect routes servicing Stratford College and the Rathgar neighbourhood.

NCCA is undertaking a review of Senior Cycle education. The review offers an opportunity to generate a shared vision for senior cycle and a strong base from which to shape a curriculum that genuinely meets the needs of all learners for years to come.

Stratford completes school-wide consultation on the use of mobile devices in schools

The Department of Education and Skills asked all schools to consult with staff, parents and students on the use of Mobile Devices in school. The use of smart phones in schools will be included as an item requiring consultation under the Education (Parent and Student Charter) Bill 2016.

World Book Day celebrations: 'Booky Breakfast' book swap sale raises €180 for charity

World Book Day 2019 in Stratford College kicked off with high-powered fruit juices and smoothies made on the spot by the TYs, while students, staff and parents browsed the many, many books in the book sale. Student, staff and parents were actively encouraged to bring in two books and €2 to make it the best book sale and 'booky breakfast' ever! And it was - we raised €180 for St. Michael's House. The juices and smoothies were also awesome!

World Book Day Book Sale on Thursday, 7th March: Parents invited! We need books too!

World Book Day is on Thursday, 7th March. The day will kick off with a 'Bring a Book, Buy A Book' sale in the school hall from 9.30am to 11am, in aid of St. Michael's House. Parents/guardians and students are all invited to the book sale and you can buy 3 books for the price of €2!! The TYs will be running the book sale.
