TY Business students runners up in LEO SEP Dublin City Finals

Congratulations to the TY Business students - Luke Higgins, Yoan Perenovski, Cassie Murphy and Brendan Doorley - who not only reached the second stage of the LEO Student Enterprise Programme Dublin City Finals, but came second place with their project 'Teacher Tower' on Thursday, 24th March.

Big Data - this year in Computer Studies classes all students from 1st year to 6th Year learned to understand what information is gathered by companies and organisations.

All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) 2022 - Stratford enter for the first time

For the first-time ever students from Stratford College participated in the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO). On Thursday, 27th January our 5th Year students worked through some really tough linguistic, logic and language problems.

5th Year Computer Science student wins two awards at BTYSTE 2022 for his advanced quantum computing project!

Massive congratulations to Ayush Tambde, 5th Year Computer Science student, for winning two awards (for a second year in a row!) at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2022 with his project called "A System For The Development And Execution Of Hybrid Classical/Quantum Tasks".

TY's compete in SciFest@Schools with their coding projects

After months of hard work coding and designing their Scratch projects, the TY's were ready to present their work to the two SciFest@Schools judges on Thursday 9th December.

5th Years participate in All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) workshop

5th Years took part in a All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) workshop on Thursday morning, 18th November. Throughout January the 5th years will be practising figuring out these linguistic challenges using logic and problem solving strategies. There is a competition at the end of January which will be entered.

2nd to 5th Year Computer Studies students compete in Bebras Challenge 2021

Computer Studies students from 2nd year to TY, and the 5th Year Computer Science students competed in the 2021 Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge starting 8th November.

Spotlight on…..Computer Science!

Every month this year (excluding December) we will be showcasing the work of one of our school departments on Stratford College’s social media channels.

Kicking off with Computer Science in October, the aim of the initiative is to provide some extra insight into what’s involved in studying the subject. We will be sharing videos, animations and photos.

Training the Trainers!

Sean Brilly (Associate with Professional Development Service Teachers, PDST) and now Junior Cycle for Teachers (JCT) will be joining Helen O’Kelly, Sarah Corrigan, and Delia Donohoe (PDST) and Siobhan Reynolds and Sheenagh Maxwell (Professional Support Team (PST) Droichead Induction for Newly Qualified Teachers), Patricia Gordon, (JCT Leadership Team) in facilitating Continuous Professional Development for teachers!

Group of 5th Years come 2nd in the 2021 EU Codeweek Hackathon National Finals

On Thursday afternoon, 23rd September and all Friday morning, team 'SC-Babbage' (5th Year students - Annalivia, Adam, Dónal, Lysander and Ayush) competed in the National Finals of the 2021 EU Codeweek Hackathon. Similarly there were National Finals in Romania, Italy, Greece, Slovenia and Latvia.
