Stratford celebrates Tech Week 2018 in Computer Studies classes

Stratford is celebrating Tech Week 2018 (22nd - 28th April) during Computer Studies classes. Apart from many Computer Science 'unplugged' activities and online coding and computational thinking puzzles, TYs had speakers from Hewlett Packard and Virgin Media to hear a talk about 'IT is not just for geeks'.

Information evening about the introduction of Leaving Certificate Computer Science to Stratford

On Thursday, 8th March parents, teachers and students were invited from Stratford schools to attend an evening explaining the new Leaving Certificate Computer Science subject. Stratford College has been selected as one of the 40 phase 1 schools, starting September 2018. 

Stratford attends official launch of Leaving Certificate Computer Science

Richard Bruton, Minister for Education and Skills spoke at the official NCCA launch of Leaving Certificate Computer Science on Monday, 5th March. Professor Brendan Tangney gave the keynote address and will also be talking at Stratford's official launch of teaching Computer Science at 7pm on Thursday, 8th March. All are welcome to attend.

Leaving Certificate students attend Higher Options

Be Inspired" was the strapline for the Higher Options exhibition held in the RDS from 13th - 15th September. 5th and 6th Year students attended the exhibition on Friday, 15th September. 6th Years, Conor Doheny, Alannah Anderson and Jake Henry write down their impressions. During Computer Studies class on Tuesday, 21st March, two representatives from Connecting Women in Technology (CWIT) spoke to the TYs about the many different careers in IT companies.
