Stratford College senior students and staff attended the National Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration at the Mansion House on Sunday 29th January. As part of the ceremony students from Stratford College, read from the Scroll of Names, remembering the victims of the Holocaust.

On Monday, 23rd January all the 5th years competed in the preliminary round of the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad. The qualification mark for the National Final this year was 74.9%. While no Stratford student qualified, well done to Sam who just missed out on the Finals, getting 72.98%. So, so close!

On Thursday 26th January a hardy group of Stratford cross-country runners headed off to the Phoenix Park to compete in the West Dublin Leinster Cross Country Championship races. Congratulations to TY student Charlie Morris McGill who qualified for the Leinster Finals!

Students representing Student Council and Prefects, Green Schools and Mentors from each 1st through to 5th year had "SuperGeneration Leadership Training" on Friday 27th January.
Joseph wrote this in Writers' Group. He was asked to write a poem with the following five words in it: mark, hybrid, ring, serpent, lace. The double entende meanings allowed for fresh interpretations e.g. Lace: a shoe lace? a rim of embroidered lace, to lace - to contaminate a drink etc.
