This month's Book Club choice is Brian Conaghan's latest book, "The Weight of a Thousand Feathers". Mr. Conaghan - a Costa Children's Book Award winner - taught in Stratford a number of years ago and Stratford is always delighted to feature his latest publication. Senior students may borrow the book from the library.

Stratford College will be represented at FÉILTE (Friday and Saturday, 5th and 6th October) in the Researchmeet section of the festival. FÉILTE is the Teaching Council’s annual Festival of Education in Learning and Teaching Excellence.
The question of whether TY is worthwhile has certainly been brought up as an issue, especially in the context of the new Junior Cycle Student Award and the reforms that it brings to our education system.
Many of the skills that the Junior Cycle Student Award aims to promote and develop are those that TY currently provides; the question is now how TY will need to change to complement the Junior and Senior Cycles, and provide a unique learning experience for students.
