The TY's visited the Incinerator in Sandymount on 18th April with Ms Finnegan and Ms Maxwell to gain a greater understanding of how it works. What an insight!

Stratford's Student Council visits The High School Student Council

On Thursday the 21st of March, Stratford’s Student Council headed down to The High School to discuss various topics that affect students. After we walked down, we were greeted with a small tour of their gardens and their bee hives. We also saw their 'Bug Motel' and 'Sustainability Garden' and these inspired some future project ideas for Green Schools. After this, we were invited to their library to have a sit-down chat.

Three 3rd years reach semi-finals of Young Environmentalist Awards (ECO-UNESCO)

3rd Year students - Hao Wen, Ritvik and Noah - were invited to the semi-finals of the Young Environmentalist Awards organised by ECO-UNESCO. The semi-finals, called ECO-Dens,  were held in the beautiful Airfield Estate where each student group had to pitch their project to a panel of judges.

Fashion, Sustainability and Active Citizenship

We are delighted to welcome back past pupil Leah Gaynor to the school. Leah is hosting workshops for 2nd & 3rd Year CSPE and TY Politics and Society on the issue of Fashion, Sustainability & Active Citizenship.

Green Schools: Be Bin Smart

Green Schools have been busy since we began back in September, after the triumph of our Transport flag last year we have started work on our new flag: Litter and Waste Global Citizenship. This means we have been working on posters for the bins, planning a litter pick and much more. You can see one of these posters in the image above, drawn by a first year student.
