On Thursday the 21st of March, Stratford’s Student Council headed down to The High School to discuss various topics that affect students. After we walked down, we were greeted with a small tour of their gardens and their bee hives. We also saw their 'Bug Motel' and 'Sustainability Garden' and these inspired some future project ideas for Green Schools. After this, we were invited to their library to have a sit-down chat.

We discussed topics like hot meals in school, the formation and organization of Student Council and student leadership, and mental health in the student population. They were especially interested in the nutrition level of the 'hot pots' and how well our Student Council operated as a whole. It was also a brilliant opportunity to see what our two schools had in common and what we did differently.

After all the hard work we were treated to sweet treats baked by the High School members themselves. We were also able to see the quiet room space they have which is available to everyone. Overall the experience brought up various different changes we would like to see in the future within our own school and we left them with some ideas/advice that they took from us. This trip was a very engaging experience, and we hope to make the meeting between schools a bi-annual occasion.
