Stratford College is delighted to share that two of our Transition Year students, Patrick and Omri, have been selected to move forward with the Certified Irish Angus Beef competition.
Transition Year students planted yellow crocus bulbs this autumn in memory of one and a half million Jewish children who were murdered in the Holocaust and thousands of other children who were victims of Nazi atrocities. (Holocaust Education Ireland provided the crocus bulbs).

During lunchtime on Tuesday the 19th of November, Stratford College teachers took part in the national protest to highlight concerns over the "acceleration" of Senior Cycle reform. Teachers are concerned about the lack of guidance and training from the Department of Education, the lack of consideration towards student use of AI for proposed assessment tasks, and the elevated stress on students that these assessments would potentially cause.

Joseph in 5th Year participated in IFoRE from the 14th to the 17th of November 2024, the International Forum on Research Excellence, which took place in Washington, D.C. This is an annual celebration of scientific research and development where people from all around the world can share their ideas, learn new skills, and broaden their horizons.
Over a series of weeks in November, the TYs have been participating in a self-defence module.

The Bebras Challenge 2024 is an online national competition run by the Irish Computer Society to figure out 15 problem solving tasks in 45 minutes using computational thinking (breaking problems down into smaller chunks).

Stratford 16's came up against another big sporting school ... Cabinteely Community School in the Cup quarter finals on Wednesday 13th November. Our boys had an eventful start to their day as a misunderstanding with the Coach led the team having to race to the match in two taxi's, as Trains, Planes and Automobiles came to mind!
Our 1st Years enjoyed a workshop facilitated by Reptile Haven. All the reptiles that visited were either surrendered or rescued and students had the opportunity to learn so much more about the various species and their likes and dislikes. Please visit the Gallery for more photos.
