Stratford College Open Day, Sunday 10th September 2023

Stratford College hosted our annual open day on Sunday 10th September.   

Students, teachers, ancillary and administrative staff greeted the hundreds of visitors, including current and prospective families. 

Two students win awards for The Mary Elmes Prize in TY Holocaust Studies

Congratulations to TY students (2022-2023), Kishaylin Reddy who received 1st Prize in the Art Category  and to Stephen O'Reilly who received 2nd Prize in the Music Category of The Mary Elmes Prize in Holocaust Studies.

Shana Tova - Happy New (Jewish) Year!

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. It will be celebrated this coming weekend with sweet foods, like apples dipped in honey and honey cake, as a wish for a sweet year. Some families also celebrate with symbolic foods like the head of a fish, pomegranates, and carrots.. 

TY Heritage Trail included in Irish Times '50 Fun Family days out' listings

What an accolade! The TY Heritage Trail has been listed as one of the '50 Fun Family days out' for summer 2023 in the Irish Times weekend magazine, published over the June bank holiday weekend.

6th Year student features on front cover of Sunday Business Post's '30 under 30' Tech young guns

Well done to Ayush, who has been included in the Sunday Business Post's '30 under 30' Tech young guns for a third year in a row (and the second year to be included on the front cover!).

Stratford Green Schools Committee Achieves our 6th Green Flag - for Biodiversity!

Stratford College was presented with its 6th Green Flag for Biodiversity at a ceremony at the end of May in DCU! 

TY's attend Chabad cookery classes in Rathmines

The TY's went to the Chabad on the Upper Rathmines Road to experience cooking classes over two days - on Tuesday and Thursday 23rd and 25th May.

3rd Year Classics & History students visit Ely's Arch

On Wednesday, 17th May, Ms Kenny and Ms Donohoe brought the 3rd Years to Ely's Arch for a Roman picnic and some games of trigon. Ely's Arch was the original entrance to Rathfarnham Castle.

TY's go on two-day Gaisce walk in Glendalough

On Tuesday, 16th May, Ms McGill, Ms Mahon and the TY's headed off to Glendalough for their two-day Gaisce walk. 

2nd Year Classics CBA Fair

On Friday, 12th May there was a massive buzz in the hall as the 2nd years presented their CBA's to 1st Years and to 6th Year Classics students (who were judging them).
