TY's participate in Trinity College Computer Science research project: Pytch.org

Since January, TY students have been transitioning from coding in Scratch to coding in Python in Computer Studies classes. The TY's were invited to participate in a Trinity College Dublin Computer Science research project using a learning tool called pytch.org. This tool is purposely built to help students move from coding in Scratch to coding in Python.

BLAST 2021: TY Children's Book Project with artist Adrienne Geoghegan

Starting on Tuesday, 1st February with a trip to Rathmines Library to look at examples of children's books, the TY's then worked for five weeks with Ms. Talbot, Ms Mahon and illustrator/artist Adrienne Geoghegan. We had such an enjoyable time with her creating our own children's picture books.

5th Year Biology students go on Ecology Field Trip to Dublin Zoo

The 5th Year Biology class, with Ms Tomlin and Ms Gordon, spent all day Wednesday 23rd March in Dublin Zoo on their Ecology fieldtrip.

TY Business students runners up in LEO SEP Dublin City Finals

Congratulations to the TY Business students - Luke Higgins, Yoan Perenovski, Cassie Murphy and Brendan Doorley - who not only reached the second stage of the LEO Student Enterprise Programme Dublin City Finals, but came second place with their project 'Teacher Tower' on Thursday, 24th March.

Junior Cycle Step Up Project report launched: results of Stratford College's teaching and learning practices

In 2018 Stratford College in Rathgar, Dublin 6 was one of 9 schools nationwide who were chosen to participate in a Department of Education initiative called Step Up. The goals identified for the Step Up project were to achieve higher quality learning experiences and outcomes for students through more effective implementation of aspects of the Framework for Junior Cycle (2015). 3rd Year Assembly - Together Again!

And so it finally happened ... after two years, our first face-to-face assembly in the hall on Thursday, 3rd March. The whole school together! Fittingly it was the third year assembly and as Ms Gordon reminded us, it was the third years - as first years- who were the year group who first had to do an online school assembly. So we have gone full circle.

Senior Classics Trip to Rome 2022!

The 5th and 6th Year Classics students jetted off to Rome on Sunday morning, 27th February with Ms Donohoe, Ms Corrigan, Ms Caspi, Ms Brusey and Mr Fadden!

Tuesday, 1st March - our Junior and Senior Irish debaters competed in the Regional Finals in Sandymount. Not a win for the Juniors but very happy with our trophies! A brilliant Senior debate! Very close but pipped at the post.
