Stratford celebrates Safer Internet Day -- AI Aware: Safe, Smart, and in Control

Safer Internet Day2026 Stratford College IMG 9405
NEWS / 10 February 2026

The theme for Safer Internet Day, Tuesday 10th February, is of being AI Aware.

In Computer Studies and SPHE classes during this week this is being explored further - how to stay safe, smart and in control. Webwise has lots of resources to make parents/guardians, students and teachers more AI Aware.

In Computer Studies classes there have been animated discussions involving a greater understanding of how AI chatbots use Large Language Models (think a huge dictionary), how chatbots are trained on data scraped from the web and from social media, and the enormous amount of energy being used to power AI.

Question everything.

Senior Cycle Subject Fair for Transition Year Students
