Stratford super-busy supporting Social Action Week & Mitzvah Day

Charity Raffle
NEWS / 18 November 2022

Student Council, Green Schools and every year have contributed to this year's Social Action Week and Mitzvah Day. All of our efforts are part of our learning for our WorldWise Global Schools passport award.

So what did Stratford do? All our fundraising activities contributed to Focus Ireland and Concern. The 1st years did a 5km sponsored walk. Green Schools and 2nd years collected 11 black sacks of litter along the Dodder. The TY's planted crocuses in memory of children who perished in the Holocaust as part of HETI's Crocus Project. Student Council organised a major charity raffle which was celebrated at the 6th Year assembly on Monday, 5th December (thanks to the many Rathgar businesses who sponsored the great prizes). The 5th & 6th years organised a football match and the 3rd years are doing a sleep over.

The charity auction raised just over €1000 and the other activities raised over €800. Phenomenal fundraising to help the many people who are in such need in these difficult times.
