Great weather for the School Walk

School Walk 2012 Ms. O'Kelly
NEWS / 23 May 2012

The 5th Year LCVP class not only organised the School Walk in aid of Barretstown on Wednesday, 16th May, they also managed the weather perfectly! Tomas Hennessy (2nd Year) and Aaron Sheridan (5th Year) write about their experiences.

On Wednesday, 16th May, we went on our school walk in the Wicklow Way. While we were there we had three stops. During the first stop we saw a really beautiful waterfall - Powerscourt Waterfall - and also a nice view of the Sugarloaf.  At our second stop we were down near a small stream. While we were walking up to the third stop Mr. Russell stopped us and showed us the Irish Sea. At the end of the day, Mr. Russell told us that we probably finished the walk in the fastest time. It was a very sunny day and the scenary was really awesome. (Click on thumbnail to open an enlarged version of image.)

The whole school went on a sponsored walk, in aid of Barretstown, up the Wicklow mountains. The day was a great success and luckily the weather stayed dry. It was a great day out that everyone enjoyed.
