Ms. Reynolds outlines the books that the TY English class have been reading so far this year.
Our Transition Year students are now on the third course of their reading journey. They must now choose a novel to read from a selection of Post Colonial texts (see the attached document for details). Their reviews are due on 29th April. To conclude their reading journey they must write a comparative essay on the three novels that they read this year. This essay is great preparatory work for their Leaving Certificate Comparative Course. To date they read a literary classic such as Dickens's, 'Hard Times' or Stoker's, 'Dracula' and a contemporary novel such as Martell's, 'The Life of Pi' or Shriver's, 'We need to talk about Kevin'.

In the run up to the state exams, Stratford's Wellbeing Team draws your attention to the suite of resources on gov.ie under the heading of Wellbeing support for Exam Students, Parents and School Staff.
On Thursday 21st May, Ms Donohoe, Ms McGill and the 3rd Year Classics students walked to nearby Ely Arch beside the River Dodder. As part of Junior Cycle Classics, students have to compare a building in their local area with a building in Rome.

As is tradition at this time of year, the annual rounders game took place between our outgoing 6th Years and Teachers. Despite great efforts by our 6th years and some fabulous (and acrobatic) play! The Teachers came out victorious.
