TYs compete in SciFest@Schools demonstrating their coding projects

Over the past two days the TYs have demonstrated their code, design process logs and posters to two SciFest@School judges. There were lots of prizes and the winners will go on to represent Stratford College at the SciFest@College competition next May in TU Dublin (Blanchardstown campus). 

The TYs have been working on their projects all this term and they have all shown great teamwork and tenacity keeping their projects going.

4X Prize winners:

  • 1st Place: Noah and Ritvik
  • SciFest award for coding complexity: Anna, Aaron and Maria
  • EirGrid award for Climate: Davi, Alexander and Hao Wen

4Y Prize winners:

  • 1st Place: Lily, Joshua and Oliver
  • STEM Excellence award: Paddy and Adam 

Well done everyone for all your energy in your presentations! Sincere thanks to George Porter, SciFest, Brian Gillespie, TU Dublin Computer Science Lecturer (via Zoom) and Rory Geoghegan, SciFest Schools Liaison officer for judging all of the projects.

Stratford reach the 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals in RDS for the first time

Congratulations to 1st Year Computer Studies students - Yair, Liam and Giorgi - who made it to the ECO-UNESCO 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals held on 12th May with their Scratch coding project called "Giorgi the Litter Fighter". This is the first time that a Stratford project has made it to the finals - so very impressive work!
