TY Weekly: Going Beyond Borders at Europa House

Europa House 11 September 1
NEWS / 15 September 2026

On Friday, the 11th of September, we as Transition Year students got the opportunity to visit the Europa House Experience on Chatham Street. The Europa House provided an interactive experience exploring how the European Union functions in Ireland and across the globe.

Upon arrival, we were split into two groups and began the tour inside a replica EU plenary session. Following this, we were invited to watch a 360° screening of the European Union’s impact across the continent and beyond. This was continued by a presentation on Ireland’s current term of the EU Presidency, and a quick yet competitive Kahoot to test our knowledge.

Before completing our tour, we made sure to leave our mark on the European Experience Portal by taking plenty of memorable photos. Overall, we enjoyed the visit as a valuable and light-hearted way to learn more about the EU and how it affects our lives.

We would like to thank Ms. Finnegan and Ms. Gower for coordinating and managing our trip to Europa House.

Looking forward to all the broccoli, onions, potatoes, and beetroot!
