Ciaran O'Byrne (TY) explains the fun had at the TY Mini-Olympics held on two separate days - Tuesday, 5th March and Thursday, 19th March.

The Classical Olympics was an exhilarating experience, not least because of the roaring of our classical names and the lifting weights up while running up and down the field. We did running, discus and javelin. I did quite well in the running events, winning the 100m stadion race and coming 2nd in the endurance testing Dolichus and the armour carrying Hoplitedromus races. The deserving King and Queen of these games were Louis and Sadhbh. They got two decorated vases each and a wreathed ivy crown to wear to show off that 'yes we are the champions'. We all got chocolate coins to top off a fun and fantastic day. Great credit must go to Ms Finnegan and Mrs Donohoe for making the event happen. (Click on blog title to see more photos.)
