As part of Tech Week 2016, Lisa D'Arcy and Colette Talbot, employees of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and representing CWIT (Connecting Women in Technology) gave a talk about "IT is not just for geeks" to the TY Computer Studies class on 19th April.

"IT is not just for geeks" was the title of the presentation given to the TY Computer Studies class by Lisa D'Arcy and Colette Talbot on Tuesday, 19th April. They came as both employees of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and as representatives of CWIT (Connecting Women in Technology).

They described their career path (business administration and accounting respectively) and outlined the many different roles that are within large technology companies - most of which they pointed out  have their European headquarters in Dublin. They showed a number of videos including a most interesting one of young graduates (with all sorts of qualifications) describing what its like to work in companies like Google and Facebook.

This was one of the events organised for Tech Week 2016 in Stratford.
