The TYs made a movie in Irish and Art classes - Cailleacha Underbury written by John Connolly. Jake Regan describes what they had to do to make it.
We made a movie, 'Cailleacha Underbury', as a cross-curricular project in Irish and Art. It was a great experience. Starting from scratch, we looked at how movies should be made, wrote out scripts and acted out the movie. This was challenging, but everyone felt it helped with their Irish a lot.
Afterwards came the editing. It was a tedious procedure, but also enjoyable, interesting and definitely gave us a much better idea of what really goes into movie making. We had an opportunity to use iMovie Maker, and made great use of it, including dubbing, subtitles, cutting and multiplying scenes etc. It was an enjoyable and helpful project, and we all utilised our skills in both Irish and Art. As is tradition at this time of year, the annual rounders game took place between our outgoing 6th Years and Teachers. Despite great efforts by our 6th years and some fabulous play, Teachers came out victorious. Fair play to all who played in this game.

Stratford celebrated Wellbeing Week 2026 (5th - 8th May), a special week dedicated to promoting positive mental health, physical activity and cultural awareness. Students had the opportunity to take part in a variety of fun and engaging activities throughout the week, including walks, workshops, cultural events, sports, and wellbeing challenges.
