‘Engineering Your Future’ in UCD for TY Students

Week long, hands- on event in UCD for TY students designed to introduce the world of engineering. See details below.

 



 ‘Engineering your Future’ is a week-long, hands-on event, aimed specifically at Transition Year students who have an interest in Science and Maths and is designed to introduce them to the world of Engineering.

The event, hosted by the UCD College of Engineering & Architecture and supported by STEPS, offers 40 TY students the opportunity to -

  • Learn about the disciplines & technologies making up the exciting world of engineering
  • Perform experiments in the UCD engineering laboratories
  • Meet engineers at work
  • Meet with engineering students, to gain their perspectives on what they study
  • Talk to postgraduate students conducting cutting-edge research in Biomedical, Bioprocess, Biosystems, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering
  • Hear from recent graduates about their careers

Date: Monday, 13 May 2012 - Friday, 17 May 2012
Time: 09:30 - 16:00 (daily)
Location: On the UCD Campus, in Belfield, Dublin 4
Admission: Participation is limited to 40 students. €65* to cover all materials & lunches, as well as transport to/from the site visit (*waived for students from DEIS schools)

Congratulations to 1st Year Computer Studies students - Yair, Liam and Giorgi - who made it to the ECO-UNESCO 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals held on 12th May with their Scratch coding project called "Giorgi the Litter Fighter". This is the first time that a Stratford project has made it to the finals - so very impressive work!
