TYs and Ms Reynolds organised a Treasure Hunt with historical/cultural clues around Rathgar and Terenure. Sophie Manaeva (TY) explains what was involved.

On the last day of Arts Week, as a surprise, the fourth years took the Junior Cycle students in groups for a treasure hunt around Rathgar and Terenure, organised by our teacher, Ms Reynolds. The treasure hunt included different historical and culturally significant spots in our area. For example, James Joyce’s mother was born in Vaughan’s Eagle House, and Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, lived for a brief period near Orwell Road. I worked with Hannah and Greg and my job was to come up with rhyming couplets as hints for the students about where to go next. For example, the Synagogue was “Across the road, and close to home; Within this building lies a sacred tome”. It was a really fun day, and all the year groups enjoyed it immensely. Congratulations to all the winners of the treasure hunt!
