In addition to the Book Sale organised by the TY students, there was a form time quiz where each year was pitted against other as they tried to guess the Book Dingbats competition and there was a "Guess-the books-teachers-read-in-their-teens" quiz in the form of posters all around the school with images of book covers. Students puzzled over the posters trying to work out which teacher had read what.
In the Library itself the World Book Day Monster Doodle Scroll was on display - Ms. Mahon's art students had drawn little doodles of favourite books that they had read. There was a display of the Scratch photos taken of each year, word puzzles and an exhibition of old "Q" magazine music photos.
To round off the day some of the members of the Running Club dressed up as "Where's Wally".
World Book Day 2014 was brought to you by Ms. Cooper and the Library Prefects - Niall Halloran, Rory Murphy, Svetlana Cvetic, Jessica Nelkin, Andrew Enright and Oscar McHale.
In the run up to the state exams, Stratford's Wellbeing Team draws your attention to the suite of resources on gov.ie under the heading of Wellbeing support for Exam Students, Parents and School Staff.
As is tradition at this time of year, the annual rounders game took place between our outgoing 6th Years and Teachers. Despite great efforts by our 6th years and some fabulous play, Teachers came out victorious. Fair play to all who played in this game.
