NEWS / 8 March 2018

Ms Talbot and a group of TY film-makers entered the Dublin heats of the Fresh Film Festival at the IFI in Dublin city centre on Wednesday, 7th March.

On Wednesday 7th March, Sophie, Ross, Claire, Alex, David and Juliet from TY attended - at the last minute - the Dublin heats of the Fresh Film Festival at the Irish Film Institute. Their short film, called 'In Memory Of' was a group effort filmed on location in Stratford and Bushy park.

Scripted by Sophie and Claire, featuring Ross, Sophie, Claire, David, Alex and Juliet, with a special appearance by Ms Reynolds, the film focuses on the mysterious disappearance of Juliet. Directed by Sophie, with sound design by David, camera work by the whole group and editing by Juliet and Sophie.

The Fresh Film Festival is an annual festival held to encourage film-making among young people aged 7 to 18. Although we didn't progress to the next round this time, seeing the students' film on the big screen in cinema 1 was a very proud moment for all involved. It was also a valuable opportunity to see other films made by young people and will hopefully inspire more experimentation with the moving image in the future.
