The latest updates from the TY correspondents for this week - Sanket, Brodie, Liám, Ciara and Lucy. An important week for the TY's as this week they got their Junior Cycle results.

For the past 2 weeks TY's have been learning self-defence in the hall. It has been a hard but rewarding experience where we have learned about the realities of violence and how to defend ourselves against an attack.

Our Junior Cycle results were out on Wednesday the 8th and we had special permission to come in and collect them in school.

Congratulations to the three TY entrants into the Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition and congrats to all entrants throughout the school. Sanket and Callum have made a dynamic chess bot and Ciara has made a wearable device to detect and alert teachers when a student is experiencing a panic attack.

On Thursday, 9th October, TY's went to the Sean O' Casey Theatre to see BULLIED by Michael J Harnett, this was a nice treat after getting our Junior Cycle results the day prior.

On Friday, 10th October we will be celebrating student achievements at the Awards Ceremony.

Sports updates!

On Friday October 3rd the girls football team played a match against Alexandra College. They lost 5-1 with an amazing goal from Natalie on her first match.

The boys, captained by Ianis, had a football match on Monday 6th October against Coláiste Eanna. The boys put in a good effort but unfortunately the opponents were too good for them, and they lost.

On Monday the 6th of October the under 16s and under 19s boys basketball had a match again against Synge Street school, they won both games with Robert  (2nd year) getting the Most-valuable-player reward, and Tomer  getting 30 points. Late in the 3rd quarter Brodie  (TY) hit a buzzer-beating half court shot that really put the momentum back into the stratford team. Well done to the boys and Coach Mr. O'Callaghan.
