NEWS / 17 February 2016

TY Law Week was celebrated this year from Monday, 15th February through to Wednesday, 17th February with a two-day workshop with a barrister and a visit to the Criminal Courts of Justice.

TY Law Week involved a two-day workshop from a visiting barrister on Monday and Tuesday, 15th and 16th February. The TYs took part in a mock trial to experience it for themselves. On Wednesday, 17th February, the TYs visited the Criminal Courts of Justice where they got to watch a number of court cases.

Following the visit to the Courts in the morning, Ms. Kenny brought the TYs to the Central Library in the ILAC centre to explore the "Traces of Memory: A Contemporary Look at the Jewish Past in Poland" Exhibition. This exhibition was hosted jointly by HETI (Holocaust Education Trust Ireland) and Dublin City Council in association with Galicia Jewish Museum, Krakow. According to the Dublin City Council website: "The exhibition pieces together a picture of the relics of Jewish life and culture in Polish Galicia that can still be seen today, interpreting these traces in a manner which is informative, accessible, and thought-provoking".
