Amy Bennett (TY) writes in detail about the long and busy day that the TY History students had when they visited London on Tuesday, 5th April.
On Tuesday, 5th April our TY History class went to London to visit the Imperial War Museum's Holocaust exhibition.
We had a very early start and had to be in Dublin airport at 4.30am. We arrived in London about 9am and had a 2 hour bus journey to reach the Museum. We walked around the Holocaust exhibition for over an hour. It was very poignant to see reconstructions of camps and read letters and poems written by people in the camps, including one 12 year-old girl writing to her friend.
Afterwards we had some lunch in the Museum. We then got back on their bus and had a tour of London and saw sites like Buckingham Palace, London Bridge and Big Ben. It was interesting to see the Guards out in preparation for the Royal Wedding. Afterwards we headed back to the airport and arrived home at 11pm that night. It was a tiring but worthwhile day and everybody enjoyed the trip. (Click on thumbnails to open an enlarged version of photo. ))

The 1st years completed a zombie lab today where they used their scientific methods and thinking to identify patient zero from the zombie suspects. Using measuring skills, pH, observation skills and much more they successfully identified the source of the outbreak!

The TY Horticulture class were out in the Autumn sunshine planting Spring bulbs using the chaos planting method. This is when a multitude of different spring bulbs (Hyacinths, Daffodils, Tulips, Crocuses, Narcissi) are mixed together and randomly planted so that we have a mixture of flowers and patterns emerging in the spring. It mimics nature and so is more enticing to pollinators and native insects that need the food in Spring.
Stratford is celebrating Maths Week 2026 (12th - 18th October) with daily activities around the school, at breaktimes and in Maths classes! The tutor-time daily quiz is proving to be extremely competitive as each form group tries to solve it and then run to find Ms Matthews in order to win the box of chocolates!
