Stratford College marks National Mental Health Day
On Wednesday, October the 10th students and staff marked National Mental Health Day, a significant occasion to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and well being.
Read more →On Wednesday 11th September, Ms Visocchi, Drama Teacher and Ms Talbot, English Teacher, along with two TY students, Alex and Christopher, attended the official launch of the new Leaving Certificate subject - Drama, Film and Theatre Studies - at the Irish Film Institute. Stratford College is one of the Phase 1 schools rolling out this new subject.
Keynote speech was delivered by Ms. Normal Foley, Minister. Also speaking was the Assistant Secretary General for the Department. Special guests included producer and director of An Cailin Cuan (The Quiet Girl), which the whole school attended as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. Dearbhla Walsh also spoke about her youth in Tubbercurry in Sligo and how she became an Emmy nominated director. As did Alisha Weir, only 14 years of age, the star of the movie musical adaption of Roald Dahl's Matilda and the recent horror Abigail.
