On Wednesday 11th September, Ms Visocchi, Drama Teacher and Ms Talbot, English Teacher, along with two TY students, Alex and Christopher, attended the official launch of the new Leaving Certificate subject - Drama, Film and Theatre Studies - at the Irish Film Institute. Stratford College is one of the Phase 1 schools rolling out this new subject.
Keynote speech was delivered by Ms. Normal Foley, Minister. Also speaking was the Assistant Secretary General for the Department. Special guests included producer and director of An Cailin Cuan (The Quiet Girl), which the whole school attended as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. Dearbhla Walsh also spoke about her youth in Tubbercurry in Sligo and how she became an Emmy nominated director. As did Alisha Weir, only 14 years of age, the star of the movie musical adaption of Roald Dahl's Matilda and the recent horror Abigail.

Stratford celebrated Wellbeing Week 2026 (5th - 8th May), a special week dedicated to promoting positive mental health, physical activity and cultural awareness. Students had the opportunity to take part in a variety of fun and engaging activities throughout the week, including walks, workshops, cultural events, sports, and wellbeing challenges.

Congratulations to 1st Year Computer Studies students - Yair, Liam and Giorgi - who made it to the ECO-UNESCO 2026 Young Environmentalist Awards Finals held on 12th May with their Scratch coding project called "Giorgi the Litter Fighter". This is the first time that a Stratford project has made it to the finals - so very impressive work!
