On Tuesday, 19th March, Senior Physics and Chemistry students went to Marsh's Library on St. Patrick's Close. Here we were given a friendly, as well as informative tour around the cold halls of the Library, set up in the 18th Century by Marsh. It is the oldest standing Library in Ireland which still survives its original purpose. The displays we saw contained a vast array of works from Chemistry and Atom Theory to Zoology, as well as writings from famous scientists like Galileo.
The tour gave everyone a strong understanding on the history and development of modern science, the scientific method and the influence it had on the development of our civilisation. (Click on blog title to see more photos.)
