The TY Science class competed in their second SciFest@Schools competition, on Tuesday, 6th March. This competition was under the guidance of Science teachers - Ms. O'Sullivan, Ms. Cronin and Mr. Fennell. Two external judges looked at the projects. Well done to Laura, Kharisma and Alan who were awarded 1st place.

Well done to Laura, Kharisma and Alan who were awarded 1st prize in the SciFest@Schools competition held in the hall on Tuesday, 6th March. Two external judges - Sheila Porter (CEO of SciFest) and a PhD Chemistry student from UCD - were invited to judge the student projects.

The winning project assessed the attention of students after a 1 hour class. Their project posed the question: 40 minute classes or 1 hour classes?

Second prize went to Adam, Emma and Nisha who asked the question: chewing gum or chewing dumb? Their analysis of the ingredients of chewing gum 'extra' versus organic chewing gum is most thought provoking.

The next level of this competition is SciFest@College, held in IT Blanchardstown in early May.

Well done to all the TYs who put in a lot of hard work in the last while, given their busy schedule.

Thanks to Ms. O'Sullivan, Ms. Cronin and Mr. Fennell for all their support.
