TY, 5th and 6th Year Science students visited the Neuroscience Department in Trinity on Thursday, 13th November as part of Science Week. Ciara Harrison, 6th Year, reports on what they did.

The 4th Year Science group and the 5th and 6th Year Biology class took a trip to the Neuroscience Lab in Trinity College accompanied by Ms. O'Sullivan and Ms. Cooper. We were given a tour of the lab and got a chance to use the microscopes and observe the cell slides.

The 6th Year students learned abou the importance of cleanliness in the lab, especially when working with chemicals and biomedical substances. We each practised extracting substances from one tube to another, always making sure to sanitise every area. The experience gave us a clear indication of what it is like to work in a laboratory environment. Go to the 2014-2015 Gallery for more Science Week photos.
