President Michael D. Higgins has issued a special video message for students in secondary school.

Schools across Ireland have been closed since the evening of Thursday 12 March, disrupting the lives of thousands of students all around the country.

The President’s message to students in secondary level education acknowledges the disruption to the important events in young people’s lives. In his message, the President thanks the students for playing their part in efforts to curtail the spread of the virus. The President concludes by saying “Stay safe and continue to keep others safe. The crisis will pass, and out of this dark time will emerge a brighter period ahead for all of us to enjoy.” (www.youtube.com)
