Hour of Code was promoted throughout the whole school from Monday, 8th to Friday 12th December. It is to encourage everyone to try their hand at coding. Read what some students thought.

At form time on Monday, students were shown a two minute video from hourofcode.com and after that students were encouraged to go to code.org/learn to try out any of the tutorials. Ms. O'Sullivan's 1st Year Computing class were very busy coding as you can see from the photographs.

"I really enjoyed 'hour of code'. It was a fascinating experience. In our computer class we got to programme our own game. It was really fun." Ross Smith, 1st Year

"The hour of code was so fun. I was amazed when the person on the screen moved! I want to do so much more." Alex Lyons, 1st Year

"Ms. O'Kelly introduced me to the Hour of Code which is a campaign to give anybody and everybody a chance to code. I started to the use the website (code.org/learn) during the week of Computer Science Education Week and I loved it. I found the website to be beneficial for my knowledge in Computer Studies and also is another interest and possible hobby I have gained so far in the course of TY." Megan Harnett, TY (while in the Library)
