GRMA Day - A day to show national solidarity and appreciation, and to say thanks and “go raibh maith agaibh” to our school communities. Watch the short video made by 5th Year Stratford College students to celebrate the day.

Stratford College thanks everyone in our school community for all their hard work and dedication to those in our care since our school reopened.

Our teachers, SNA, students, office staff, caretaker, parents and Board of Management!

We are showing our appreciation by hosting Barista Bike coffees and hot chocolate drinks, serving doughnuts and presenting gifts to the staff. We will also watch national tributes from President Higgins, an Taoiseach and many other leading figures in politics, sport, education and the media #GRMA, the Minister for Education, Ms Norma Foley and from our own students in Stratford #GRMA!

Congratulations too to the Student Council for organising our annual collection for Focus Ireland this week.

Join us in celebrating #GRMA in Stratford.

Go raibh maith agaibh go leir!!!!

Tánaiste Simon Harris visits Stratford College

Tánaiste Simon Harris visits Stratford College

On Friday afternoon, 23rd January, we had the privilege of welcoming Tánaiste Simon Harris to Stratford College.  Upon arrival, we met himself and local TD James Geoghegan before Mr. Harris addressed the school.  He spoke to us on a matter of issues, including how he became interested in politics, the importance of young people within it, and social media and its mental health implications.

We then ran a Q&A with questions coming directly from the student body, before the Tánaiste spoke separately with Jewish students.  In this sobering discussion, the problem of antisemitism was brought up, with the Jewish students bravely sharing their own experiences of it.  Photos were then taken at both the school and in Herzog Park before the visit drew to a close.  We all enjoyed the Tánaiste's visit; it was a great opportunity to display Stratford at its best and push for government action against antisemitism.
