2015 is the 10th Year of the the Dublin: One City, One Book Festival. Throughout April there are events citywide celebrating Roddy Doyle's Barrytown Trilogy: "The Commitments", "The Snapper" and "The Van".
There are five copies of Roddy Doyle's "The Barrytown Trilogy" in the Library as featured in this year's Dublin: One City, One Book Festival. Transition Year students are reading these books in English class and writing book reviews on 1990's Dublin - a time dominated by Italia '90 and unemployment; a time where no hint of the future Celtic Tiger was on the horizon. Roddy Doyle's blunt writing was turned into a very successful film - "The Commitments".
For TY students it is like reading a Dublin in another age.
In the run up to the state exams, Stratford's Wellbeing Team draws your attention to the suite of resources on gov.ie under the heading of Wellbeing support for Exam Students, Parents and School Staff.
As is tradition at this time of year, the annual rounders game took place between our outgoing 6th Years and Teachers. Despite great efforts by our 6th years and some fabulous play, Teachers came out victorious. Fair play to all who played in this game.
